Autism/Asperger Assessments for ages 16 +

In November of 2011, Annette Becklund had the opportunity to attend a training in Cambridge, UK.  The training was conducted by  Dr. Janine Robinson who works with the ARC (Autism Research Center).  During this time, Annette had the opportunity to meet psychiatrists and researchers who work directly for the ARC.  What a wonderful learning experience!

As a result of the training, full AAA (triple A) Assessments are being conducted at the office by appointment.  Full reports are then generated using AAA guidelines.  The triple A was developed by the Autism Research Center at the University of Cambridge.  This diagnostic tool utilizes several components in order to make an Asperger or High Functioning Autism diagnosis.  The components include a Relative Questionnaire, Autism Questionnaire, Empathy Questionnaire, and the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual).

Also during this time, Annette had the opportunity to spend the day at the Nottingham Asperger Clinic.  This proved to be another incredible learning opportunity.  The team of experts works closely on diagnosing and treating Asperger’s using several modalities including social skills groups, psychiatry, individual therapy, speech and occupational therapy, and in-home visits.
